Senior Recruitment Consultant at Keller Executive Search Julia Yurchak was quoted in an article with other experts exploring how AI is transforming hiring practices.
In the article, “AI in Hiring: 30+ Experts Across Industries Share Their Top Insights”, Julia explained that AI is best paired with human insight when it comes to recruiting new people. In her own words:
“AI-powered matching is incredibly useful, but it works best when combined with human insight. Recruiters and hiring managers still need to review matches, conduct interviews, and make final decisions.”
Julia’s opinion was mirrored by what some of her peers had to say. Michelle Volberg of Twill believes in real, human connections over AI-only matching. Sagheer Anjum from Remote Jobs Feed noted that AI platforms don’t always understand hiring nuances and will provide irrelevant matches as a result.
The founder of eLearning Industry Inc, Christopher Pappas, also agreed that although HR tech can make hiring smarter, it should not replace human recruiters entirely. Similarly, Joseph Passalacqua, the Owner and CEO of Maid Sailors, pointed out that AI can fail without oversight.
The comments from Julia and the other professionals featured in the article point to a clear consensus: AI can be a useful tool for hiring, but it should not be used in isolation or to replace human recruiters.
