Drive Your Business Forward With Top Talent

Transportation Executive Recruiters

Keller Executive Search is a leading transportation recruitment firm helping companies of all sizes bridge the talent gap in their leadership teams by surfacing and connecting them to high-caliber professionals. We utilize an extensive, nationwide network of active and passive candidates along with a proprietary research model that employs real-time market trends analysis to identify where the top talent is currently engaged.

Transportation’s Executive Talent Market

The transportation executive talent market is defined by $13T in annual global logistics spend and 6.6M United States workers. Logistics costs represent 11 per cent of the world’s gross domestic product, with Asia Pacific the largest regional market and North America the second largest. Transportation is advised by MIT, Michigan State University, and Delft University of Technology, global leaders in transportation and supply chain research.

UPS, FedEx, DHL Group, Maersk, Union Pacific, Delta Air Lines, and Uber are among the major employers in transportation. Those employers include parcel, air cargo, contract logistics, container shipping, freight rail, commercial aviation, and ride-hailing companies. There is strong demand for tariff and trade compliance executives, autonomous freight and mobility technology leaders, and supply chain resilience C-suite talent.

Asset cycles, safety regulation, and network economics shape every senior seat in transportation. Keller Executive Search’s transportation practice is built around those pressures, working across freight, passenger, and last-mile operations to find leaders who can hold service and cost in balance.

What We Do

Our transportation headhunters have deep industry knowledge and extensive expertise in finding, attracting, and retaining high-quality candidates with the skills needed to face the unique challenges of today’s business environment. We achieve this by following a tried-and-tested method, with the core covering three parts:

Assessment

Whenever we begin a new assignment, we perform a thorough analysis of the company we are hiring for to identify the areas that could benefit from the ideal candidate placement. This information helps us define the hiring parameters that will guide the rest of our search and ensure we deliver the right talent for the company’s needs.

The professionals we identify for the open position are all subject to our rigorous vetting process, during which we carefully analyze their compatibility with the hiring requirements. This means taking a deep dive into every candidate’s professional track record and examining more intricate factors such as a candidate’s personality, work ethic, motivational drivers, and cultural alignment. This ensures that the skills and career aspirations of whoever is selected for the role will align with the business’s goals, values, and culture.

Our Approach to Transportation Executive Search

Transportation

Our executive recruitment team specializes in offering bespoke talent acquisition services to companies in the transportation and logistics industry. We understand that every firm is different, so we tailor our approach to meet every client’s unique needs, goals, and expectations.

Leveraging the information we gathered about our client’s business during our initial assessment, our passionate recruiters start mapping the job market for the perfect match. We take several steps to create a large pool of diverse talents, including posting on online job boards, making inquiries across social media, and leveraging our logistics networks for referrals. We also make cold calls and emails to executives who may be otherwise inaccessible through traditional recruiting methods.

Our executive recruiters implement a thorough vetting process to identify the right candidates. Comprehensive background and reference checks, combined with competency assessments and interviews, enable us to swiftly narrow the talent pool until only the best professionals remain.

At Keller Executive Search, we champion fairness during the candidate selection process. This means we evaluate each candidate solely on their professional merits, free from biases related to gender, age, ethnicity, or beliefs. Every candidate who satisfies our client’s requirements and demonstrates an aptitude for the role is shortlisted and presented to the client for final interviews.

Behind Our Recruitment Process

Over the years, as our insights into the field have also grown, our recruiting process has evolved to accommodate a diverse range of clients, from small and medium-sized firms to multinational corporations. While we are fully equipped to address their every recruiting need, the same cannot be said when we had just entered the talent acquisition arena.

At the time, we used a generic search approach that did not account for the fact that no organization is the same. It also could not be adapted to suit their specific needs or industry, which meant that we could not address the different challenges that businesses face.

Nevertheless, this was the approach we used in our attempt to fill a leadership role for a prominent client of ours. We commenced the recruiting process the same way as any other assignment, confident in our ability to locate a suitable match for the firm. However, we underestimated the importance of cultural fit, resulting in a subpar hire that did not see eye-to-eye with the rest of our client’s team.

In the end, the placement was a failure, but we learned a valuable lesson that would inform our new approach and eventually lead to stronger hires for our clients. We completely changed the way we handle placements, adopting a customer-oriented strategy that would allow us to tailor our services to their individual requirements.
